About Basingstoke

Basingstoke is a large town in Hampshire in the South of England. A financial centre of the county, Basingstoke is a bustling and vibrant town with superb shopping areas such as Festival Place which hosts over 165 shops, restaurants, cafes and a cinema. Though the town has a modern appearance, it has a rich history and this is apparent when you visit museums such as Milestones which concentrates on the county's more recent past, Willis Museum that provides an overview of the towns history and Whitchurch Silk Mill on the historic River Test and is one of the only working silk mills in the country.
